Using AI to Free the Writing Process in High School

Participants will explore methods to help students liberate their relationship with the written word by unlocking creativity, and generating unexpected material before a more conscious process begins.
Participants generate an open source document through improvised prompts and establish a set of random rules and creation points which allow writers to input, edit or delete material in a random pattern. Using improvisational techniques applied to writing, participants will develop material collaboratively.


Maria Aladren

Maria Aladren​ is a professional director and educator. For the past fifteen years, she has developed MCVTS high school theatre conservatory in New Jersey. Maria has worked with McCarter Theatre in Princeton and NJIT on developing a STEAM-based approach to teaching creativity.
