Applied Improvisation: Its Impact and Future at STEM Universities

Attendees will gain an understanding of how the theories and practices of applied improv can change educational practices for STEM college students.
This presentation will outline the structure and rationale for the creation of a center of implied improvisation at NJIT. It argues for the creation of a university level center to support the introduction of applied improvisation to multiple disciplines and programs at the university, as well as support funded research initiatives on the effects of implied improvisation on higher education. 


Megan O'Neill

Dr. Megan O’Neill is an Assistant Professor of Humanities at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where she directs the First Year Writing Program. She specializes in the design, implimenation, and assessment of university educational programs.
